Mormon Feminists

I just read the most interesting article from The Guardian about feminists in the Mormon church and culture. It was posted a few days ago, but read it here. Feminist Mormons are using blogging to discuss the role of women in the church, feminist issues and create a venue for “feminist expression.” How awesome is that? I’m sitting here blogging thoughts, news and opinions for class, and there are women right now who blog to share their experiences with each other and effect change in their church. Some of the women writers are still members of the church; others have been kicked out for expressing their beliefs or left voluntarily. One of the largest blogs, “Feminist Mormon Housewives,” includes a series of posts that write about women in the early Mormon church.

Are there any successful women in your religion’s history that have been forgotten? What about in your culture?
